Dematting
For dogs with light matting or small tangles. I will always work carefully and only
remove knots where this can be done without causing unnecessary discomfort.
If the coat is badly matted or pulling on the skin, brushing it out may not be fair
on the dog. In these cases, a shorter clip may be needed under the Animal Welfare
Act 2006 to prevent pain, stress or skin irritation. Heavy matting can also affect
grooming equipment, so it is always best to deal with knots early where possible.

Shaving of Pelted or Severely Matted Coats
When a coat is pelted or severely matted, clipping it short is often the kindest
and safest option. Brushing through heavy matting can be painful, stressful and
unfair on the dog.
This type of groom takes care, time and concentration. My priority will always be
to keep your dog as comfortable as possible throughout the appointment.
After the groom, I will talk you through coat care, brushing and suitable grooming
intervals to help prevent the same issue returning.
PriceFrom £10 added to full groom
Flea Treatment & Salon Deep Clean
If fleas are found during an appointment, I will deal with the situation safely and
hygienically. Where it is safe to continue, I will complete the groom, treat your
dog as required and then carry out the necessary salon cleaning process afterwards.
This includes specialist cleaning products, disposal of affected items where needed
and extra time to make sure the area is safe and hygienic for the next dog.
If you know or suspect your dog has fleas before the appointment, please contact me
first so we can discuss the best way to manage the booking.
PriceFrom £10 added to full groom
Nervous, Reactive or Senior Dogs
Some dogs need more time, patience or reassurance during grooming. This can include
older dogs, dogs who are unsure of grooming, or dogs who may struggle with certain
parts of the process.
I will always discuss your dog’s needs before the appointment and agree what is
suitable. If a dog is highly reactive or difficult to handle safely, an initial
conversation or assessment may be needed before a groom can be confirmed.

Any additional time needed for matted coats, heavy shedding, nervous dogs, senior dogs or dogs needing extra support will be discussed before the groom begins.
